Junior Office Administrator

Based in Kingswinford in the West Midlands, Alcomet is a market leading supplier of electrical materials and components to the electricity sector. Established for 15 years our clients include the UK’s largest operators and construction companies in the industry. The company is expanding our marketing operations to promote new product ranges and has recently developed new offices to accommodate this expansion.  Having experienced recent rapid company growth, we are now looking for a confident and outgoing individual to join the administration team in the capacity of Junior Office Administrator.

The main purpose of the position is to work closely with our existing Administration team and assist in supporting our dynamic sales team with all areas of administration, reporting directly to the Administration Manager. The tasks will vary from day to day to suit the needs of the business, therefore a flexible approach and team working are essential parts of the role.

Some of the day-to-day duties would include:

  1. Processing sales orders
  2. Scanning/photocopying documents.
  3. Assisting with the administration of the contact database system.
  4. Updating sales reports.
  5. Maintaining the existing office filing system.
  6. Assisting with ordering and maintaining stationery, kitchen, cleaning and equipment supplies.
  7. Assisting with incoming and outgoing post and courier documents.
  8. Answering the phone and taking messages.
  9. Meeting and greeting visitors to the office
  10. Plus any other administrative support duties requested by the company.

 

Product Manager – GRP/Composite Flooring, Walkways and Structures

You will be primarily responsible for the product sales and marketing of GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic flooring, walkways and structures ).

You will support key account managers to develop business within existing key accounts and also promote and prospect for GRP business within new accounts.

You will be expected to identify new business opportunities for the company and work with other members of the sales and management team to support the effective conversion of opportunities into sales.

A background and experience of GRP or Composites products or outdoor flooring would be beneficial.  Also, knowledge or a track record of successfully selling industrial or building products would be of value.

Reporting to the Managing Director

Responsibilities

  • Promote and develop the range of GRP products.
  • Contact new and existing customer accounts to introduce yourself and the company
  • Identify and build a database of new key contacts who either buy or who influence buying decisions
  • Effectively explain and communicate company and products information
  • Obtain critical customer and competitor information
  • Identify customer needs and sales opportunities (opportunities to quote on existing requirements, suggest new products, up selling and cross selling)
  • Clearly and efficiently communicate opportunities to and liaise with other members of the account team to progress the sales process
  • Build strong rapport and relationships with key contacts
  • Maintain and update the contact management system to accurately record account information, activity and set future tasks
  • Support marketing campaigns with follow up contacts
  • Maintain high awareness and knowledge of the industry
  • Achieve KPI’s and Sales targets
  • Attend relevant training and develop knowledge to be able to understand and sell the product portfolio
  • For certain predefined accounts and products respond to requests for quotation by providing and accurate and timely pricing.
  • Follow up your own quotations to close sales
  • Maintain and manage your own account development plans

Business Development / Account Manager – Key Accounts
